Sporting Affair Golf Tournament
The Sporting Affair Golf Tournament is a fun way to reconnect with employees, host a potential client or simply enjoy a day of golf with friends or family at the beautiful - and private - Suntree Country Club in Melbourne.
Earn prizes throughout the day beginning with the Putting Contest before the tournament. During the tournament you'll have the chance to win again at the Hole In One, Longest Drive (men and women) and Closest to the Pin (men and women) contests. In addition, participants can “Buy a Driver” for $20 and have a Florida Tech golf team member drive for their team (not available on contest holes). Need some extra swings? Purchase mulligans at Registration for either three at $20 (limit three per golfer) or one at $10.
Tournament winners placing first, second and third are handsomely rewarded. Each member of the winning foursome receives $100 gift certificates from Suntree Country Club plus have their names inscribed on the Flammio Trophy, the official Sporting Affair Golf Tournament award. This Waterford crystal trophy was donated in 2004 by then Sporting Affair Chairman, Joseph Flammio. The Flammio Trophy is proudly displayed in the Florida Tech Clemente Center year-round.
Second place team members receive $50 gift certificates from Suntree Country Club and third place team members receive $25 gift certificates.
Registration opens at 11 a.m. Golfers receive a boxed lunch, unlimited beverages, goodie bag and golf shirt.
Format for the tournament is a four player team scramble with all players playing from the tee. The best tee shot determines where the ball will be played. The Callaway Scoring System is used to score this event.
